January Roundup: Finding your flow, love notes and more free resources

Women

Well, that was January. I was on holidays for most of it, so no surprises that it went by in a blip. I’m just fully back to my business this week, after a few weeks in Byron with my family doing a whole lot of nothing (that means beach, long walks, naps, reading, family time…oh, and white wine). It was bliss, and yes, it already feels like a lifetime ago.

I skipped the December roundup as I figured you were probably to engrossed in end of year/new year to be that interested! So I hope you enjoy the January edition. Blog posts you missed, what I’m listening to, books, green juice and where we can get together at upcoming events. Oh and read all the way to the end to get your free career success workbook (that’s not even released yet).

I hope this is helpful. Let’s go.

On the blog in January

New Year Love Note #4: Permission

New Year Love Note #3: Commitment

New Year Love Note #2: Declare

New Year Love Note #1: Surrender

What I read and loved in 2016 (and what’s next)

And just published on the podcast yesterday, my in depth interview with Avril Henry, a true trailblazer in diversity, women’s leadership and changing the gender and leadership landscape in Australia. If you love real, honest and though-provoking discussion about the issues that are really affecting women in the workplace today, and not just a rehash of the same, tired conversations that aren’t really moving us forward, then you are going to love this interview with Avril.

What I read

January was filled with long walks up to the Byron Bay lighthouse, so I listened to two audio books whilst up there. Get your ears tuned into these babies.

The Surrender Experiment by Michael A Singer – I highly recommend you listen to this as it is his life story as narrated by him, and it really comes alive in the audio. This is where my theme of surrender comes from and yes, I would call this book life changing.

Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes – again highly recommend you listen rather than read. Rhonda is a brilliant storyteller (of course right, she is the genius behind Greys Anatomy and Scandal). I resisted this book for a long time, but it is incredible and full of life lessons. If you want just a snippet, check out her TED talk here.

I also actually read a book on holidays, the only time I read fiction, finishing The Singles Game and loved it.

Podcasts for the month

Rich Roll has become my favourite podcast show and with over 20 million downloads I’m not alone. I recently loved these episodes: Darin Olien on superfoods, nutrition and getting off the grid; Guru Singh, master spiritual teacher on awakening your highest self; Jasmin Singer on losing 100 pounds and finding herself.

Podcasts I think will be high rotation on walks and car trips in Feb (yes, school is back, means lots of driving) will be The Tony Robbins Podcast, Good Life Project, and The Minimalists Podcast.

Recipe of the month

I keep getting asked what my favourite green juice is, so here it is! I make it myself with all organic ingredients wherever possible (except the mint is from my garden). Ingredient measurements have no real science, just whatever I throw in, but this is what I did yesterday so hope it helps for the mix. Get creative and see what happens.

4 green apples

1 massive extra long cucumber (or about 4 lebanese cucumbers)

Half a bunch of kale

Half a bunch of english spinach

3 big chunks of ginger

Half a full celery

Handful of mint

This made me about a litre of juice, perhaps a bit more. That is about two serves for me. Enjoy!

Next month, my favourite smoothie….

Events coming up

Last week I ran one of my rare and intimate See What’s Possible retreat days. It was amazing. For everyone who missed it and have been asking me to hold some public talks, you are in luck. On February 23 in Sydney, I am hosting an intimate See What’s Possible evening talk – it’s only $45 to come along for two hours where I will guide you to get clear on what you really want for this year, remove what’s holding you back, set clear intentions and boundaries and make sure you have the wellbeing to go get at it. You will receive a detailed workbook to ensure you can take immediate action. It’s going to be a beautiful evening. Grab a girlfriend and get your seats here.

In a few weeks, the incredible program Journey Into The Sacred Feminine commences. This is a six month, invitation only group coaching program, with full days retreats, evening women’s circles and 1-1 coaching with me. It is going to be a life transforming journey. I have two places left so please, download the beautiful outline and let me know asap if you feel called to join. We will chat on the phone and see if we are a good fit. I will be sending out some frequently asked questions on Friday, so stay tuned for that.
