As I sit here on the morning of New Years Eve, I am sending out many wishes to you for a peaceful, happy, safe and healthy 2013. What a year 2012 has been. Wrote and published my first book, did great things at work that are making a difference, saw my son finish primary school healthy and happy, and even bought a cool new car (it took me ten years, I savour the drive everyday!). So much has happened. A lot of work, some major milestones, and a great feeling of accomplishment.

And there is also so much to look forward to in 2013. The launch of Getting Real in the US and other countries, a second book, starting my PhD in gender studies (oh boy), expanding the work I love in coaching and speaking, and Luca starting high school (that is the biggest one for sure!). It is going to be huge – hell it might even be epic.

What about you? What will you reflect on as you close out the year? What has been meaningful, what have you accomplished, and more importantly, how have you felt whilst doing it? I am sure you will, but try and take some time to really reflect on the year that has been – what you have learnt and regardless of whether it was good or bad, how you are all the richer for it.

And then there comes the all important planning for 2013. I threw out planning last year, well I mean I threw out resolutions, which you can read about here. Instead I set intentions. What are your intentions for 2013? What do you want to get done, who do you want to spend time with, how do you want to grow, what vacations are you going to take (yep, already planning this one). Most importantly, I would love you to think about how you want to feel in 2013. One of my friends told me this week her intention for 2013 is to experience more love. I would like to have more fun and play in my life (we all know my penchant for work). I have another friend who wants to feel more calmness, and a client who wants to feel more creative. I am also intending for abundance, peace and freedom.

So how do you want to feel? What intentions are you setting as you head into the new year that will bring this to life for you? If you can today or tomorrow, or this week, spend some quiet time and really ponder this. You might like to talk to your partner, or a friend and do it together – it can be a great conversation over a glass of bubbly, or Vodka as my soul sista Michelle and I do – works a treat!

As we close out the year, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to you for being here and for making my journey so much richer. Whatever you intend for 2013, I hope that it is magical.
